Forms

by See-ming Lee
A way to see in photography.
Forms, a way to see. A Bauhaus philosophy.

Forms represent a way to see — a distillation of the world into basic visual elements: shapes, colors, and lines. This concept, rooted in Bauhaus philosophy, guides my work in design, photography, and art.

I studied art at Yale, with a focus on graphic design, so the design program influences me the most.

The program at Yale was started by Josef Albers (1888-1976). Albers is considered one of the most influential abstract painters of the twentieth century. Before Yale, he was a student and teacher at Bauhaus.
